AMOC* pianist CONOR HANICK (“brilliant…effortlessly elegant,” The New Yorker; “defies human description,” Concerto Net) plays the entirety of John Cage’s epochal Sonatas and Interludes, a hugely influential set of pieces inspired by Indian philosophy and written for prepared piano. This radically intimate experience, with the audience sitting close behind the pianist, is a Cageian collaboration between outer-worldly pianistic expression, light, and dance.

Premiered December 15-16, 2018, American Repertory Theater, Cambridge, MA

“...the best instrumental concert I have seen all year by virtue of its rethinking of the basics of what a recital might be”

“A concert to match the 'mystical quality’ in famous work by John Cage”
