SUMMARY:"Rome Is Falling" - Run AMOC* Festival at Lincoln Center
DESCRIPTION:Rome Is Falling\nSunday\, July 13\, 2025 at 8:00pm\nAlice Tully Hall \nRun AMOC* Festival\, Summer for the City at Lincoln Center \nMember Presale: May 8\, 2025 – 12pm EDT\nTickets On Sale: May 15\, 2025 – 12pm EDT\nAll tickets are Choose-What-You-Pay. \nAMOC* presents the New York premiere of Rome is Falling\, conceived and composed by AMOC* bassist Doug Balliett. Rome is a zany lesson on the absurdity of what can happen when influential people lose power. In his ever-prescient\, ever-joyful way\, Balliett brings audiences of all ages on a musical journey through a world that includes lollipops\, an absurd number of characters\, and an emperor with a chicken fetish. Rome was one of the world’s great civilizations\, yet\, like all empires\, it fell. Why and how? The story is a mixture of politics\, betrayal\, immigration\, religion\, climate\, pandemic\, natural disaster\, xenophobia\, and bad luck–so much of what makes us human and that we continue to face today. \nDoug Balliett*\, Creator and Composer\nJulia Eichten*\, Stage Director\nMatthew Aucoin*\, Music Director \nAriadne Greif\, Soprano\nChuanyuan Liu\, Countertenor\nPaul Appleby*\, Tenor\nJorell Williams\, Baritone\n \nBret Easterling\, Dance\nJulia Eichten*\, Dance \nJonny Allen*\, Percussion\nMatthew Aucoin and Elliott Figg\, Keyboard\nDoug Balliett\, Double Bass\nEmi Ferguson*\, Flute\nKeir GoGwilt*\, Violin\nColeman Itzkoff*\, Cello\nJordan Dodson\, Guitar\nPaul Holmes Morton\, Theorbo and Baroque Guitar\nJorell Williams\, Baritone\nClay Zeller-Townson\, Bassoon\nYoung People’s Chorus of New York City\n \nAn * asterisk next to an artist’s name denotes that they are one of 17 founding AMOC* company members.
