RUN AMOC! CABARET

Get up close and personal with AMOC as they let loose in an intimate evening curated by members of the Company. Performances include:
KEIR GOGWILT (violin), COLEMAN ITZKOFF (cello), and MATTHEW AUCOIN (piano)
in works composed by Aucoin;
EMI FERGUSON (flute), OR SCHRAIBER (dance), DAVÓNE TINES (bass-baritone), JULIA EICHTEN (dance), and JONNY ALLEN (percussion) in music ranging from the French Baroque through Iannis Xenakis's energetic percussion piece Rebonds;
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26
LISTENING TO TOM-TOM
SCHLESINGER LIBRARY, 11:30AM - 1:00PM
Led by Lucy Caplan ’12, this workshop will feature a performance by AMOC bass-baritone Davóne Tines of excerpts from Tom-Tom, an opera by author, musicologist and composer Shirley Graham Du Bois (wife of W.E.B. Du Bois AB 1890, PhD 1895). A post-performance discussion, moderated by Radcliffe Institute Fellow Chad Williams, will delve into Tom-Tom's complex representations of race, gender, and history, as well as the challenges and possibilities that arise in performing this musical work today.
